CONSULTING

Richards Mining Services (RMS) provide consultancy services facilitating site productivity studies, evaluations and recommendations, development of comprehensive operator training procedures and policies, project management, and upskilling & assessment of mobile plant operators.

Senior Management today are well aware that the mining industry is a competitive and demanding environment that commands improved productivity, reduction in costs and increased profitability. There are many facets of the mining industry that contribute to the achievement or demise of these commands.

Many issues arising in mining can often be traced back to a root cause identified as inadequacies with obvious consequences being reflected over multiple areas.

The question of operator efficiency is one such issue, which sees ramifications in the areas of safety, productivity and maintenance. These ramifications can be reflected as either positive or negative and contribute significantly to the overall cost effectiveness and success of the operation.

Historically it can be said that 60 - 80% of most equipment failure can be attributed to operator misuse, or a general lack of working knowledge by the operator for the equipment they are employed to operate.

RMS has achieved much success in reducing these and other costs by giving operators an understanding of the technical and financial cost of the equipment they operate, as well as training them in preferred operating techniques.

RMS has seen productivity improvements together with decreasing maintenance costs as a direct result of our consultative and training initiatives. RMS develops machine specific assessments tailored to client sites and the accompanying documentation to ensure that all training records meet the required legal obligations.

RMS developed the Australian accreditation standard for hydraulic Face Shovel operations. RMS are nationally certified to assess personnel on Haul Trucks, Loaders, Dozers, Excavators, Face Shovels, Graders, Scrapers, Backhoes, Skid Steer Loaders, Forklifts and Rollers.
