Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) first approached RMS in September 2007 at the start of ramping-up mobilisations to the Cloudbreak minesite. FMG was looking for a single industry partner to provide a range of pre-site and on-site training solutions, such as:
- FMG site induction training
- First aid training
- Working at heights training
- Confined space entry training
- 4WD training
- Mobile plant training at RMS's 60-hectare training mine site north of Perth
- Forklift and EWP training
- On-site mobile plant training and assessing
- On-site support of FMG's Indigenous training programs
RMS delivered training to over 1,500 FMG staff and contractors over a 15-month period, operating seven days a week and providing maximum scheduling flexibility to achieve all of the desired outcomes. This project highlighted RMS's ability to rise to extraordinary challenges, provide service that goes above and beyond normal expectations and give clients a level of flexibility that is unmatched in the industry.
